ingrid innkeeperHello Friends! I am Ingrid Hopkins, and I have created The Covered Bridge Inn from my family’s farmhouse here on Hopkins Dairy Farm.  I will be the 5th generation Hopkins to call the farmhouse my home.

I grew up in Lewes on the farm and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School. I was active with 4-H and you could usually find me out riding my horse.  I graduated from Delaware Valley College with degrees in Animal Science and Veterinary Technology.  Then, I pursued a fulfilling dual career of Veterinary Nursing, and training Standardbred race horses.

I have always longed to return home to Lewes and my roots here at the dairy farm.  It dawned on me one morning, as I was preparing breakfast for company that had come to visit me...This is it, this is what I want to do...and I know just where to do it!!!

My father, Walter Hopkins, has been an amazing support.  He is helping me build my dream and establish my legacy that will remain here on the Hopkins farm.  My family is amazing. I am so proud of my brother, Burli, and the success he has seen with the Hopkins Farm Creamery.  My sister, Amy, and her Hopkins Henlopen Homestead, will supply my B&B with fresh honey, jams, and beeswax products.  I am truly blessed to be surrounded with supportive family and preserved farmland.

There is no better place to live than here on the farm.  You get the quiet of the farmland, the beach and coastal life is a few miles away, every restaurant you can imagine, and all the shopping you can handle.  So come on out and take advantage of the endless opportunities here at the Covered Bridge Inn!
